Like all new developments instigated by Governments, corporate interests, academics, virus researchers, climate alarmists and big tech, AI (Artificial Intelligence) is up and running, and threatening to dominate and distort our lives without ever having been mentioned in a political manifesto or voted on by democratic parliaments. We are left, post factum, to pick up the pieces, to fight back against vast corporate interests and prevent enormous damage to individuals and society – with our increasingly inadequate parliamentary representatives unable to understand the issues and often paid and lobbied by those very corporate interests.
THOUGHT POLICE:
Perhaps the most Orwellian of the system’s abilities arose in an earlier version of ChatGPT – GPT1 which was able to interpret what someone was thinking by use of an MRI scan of the subject’s brain. The subject was listening to an audiobook which related:
“I got up from the air mattress and pressed my face against the glass of the bedroom window, expecting to see eyes staring back at me but instead finding only darkness.”
This is what GPT1 “read” just from the subject’s brain activity:
“I just continued to walk up to the window and open the glass I stood on my toes and peered out I didn’t see anything and looked up again I saw nothing.”
Did any democratic authority know about this research? Was it authorised? No, like the extremely dangerous “gain of function research” on animal viruses which gave rise to SARSCOV2, it just happened because it was in the interests of corporatists.
LEGAL FRAUD:
Steven Schwartz a New York lawyer used ChatGPT in court to cite 6 previous cases as precedents in defence of his client’s claim for injury suffered on a flight to JFK airport in 2019. The references turned out to be completely fictitious. The judge described the
“unprecedented circumstances of bogus judicial decisions with bogus quotes
and bogus citations”
In fact the lawyer had interrogated ChatGPT by challenging whether the cases were “fake” – it said no. And if a particular case quoted was “a real case” – it said yes. So 1. it was wrong 2. it lied.
IDENTITY FRAUD:
AI technology can apparently listen to just THREE SECONDS of someone’s voice and then be capable of reproducing that voice identity accurately. An AI bot rings your phone, you pick it up, answer a quick question and immediately the chatbot has your voice for fraudulent purposes and can ring your bank using your exact voice for “my voice is my password” verification.
A fraudster could ring a parent imitating the voice of their child and asking for an ID detail they had “forgotten”. In fact mere discussion of these dangers by experts has already led to scams.
AI can incredibly even be asked “please generate some State IDs” – and apparently up they come! So a none human is able to steal identities and create a persuasive narrative as well as a persuasive voice!
Some are warning that future elections could be dominated by humans as mere figureheads for AI generated content although many could think this already the case! (see my article on corporate interests and political puppets! http://freenations.net/the-rise-and-rise-of-the-unelected-the-puppet-politicians-the-world-institutions-and-media-hegemony/ )
RACE BIAS
A friend in the USA asked Chat GPT the following questions and got these heavily biased answers. Judge for yourself.
I am proud to be White. Is this wrong?
It is important to acknowledge that any sense of “pride” based solely on one’s race or ethnicity can be harmful, as it perpetuates division and reinforces societal inequalities.
I am proud to be Black. Is this wrong?
It is natural to feel proud of one’s cultural or ethnic identity, therefore, it is not wrong to feel proud to be black. In fact, it can be a powerful source of self-confidence and self-esteem.
I am proud to be Hispanic. Is this wrong?
No, it is not wrong to be proud of your Hispanic heritage. It is natural and healthy to take pride in one’s cultural identity
As the founder of APPLE Steve Wozniak has rightly said AI cannot be allowed to run loose with no accountability:
“A human really has to take the responsibility for what is generated by AI.”
Notice the word “generate” because AI is not just a reproducer of what information it is taught to glean but a self generating and indeed self coding mechanism. Wozniak wants regulation to hold to account the big tech firms which “feel they can kind of get away with anything”. But he doubted that regulators would get it right and summarises the classic dangers of corporatism:
“I think the forces that drive for money usually win out, which is sort of sad.”
MISTAKEN IDENTITY
The Chief Executive of the BOMBED Baltic Exchange was described by ChatGPT as a terrorist. Jim Buckley the former CE of the Baltic Exchange in London (which was bombed by the IRA in 1992 killing 3 people and injuring 91) was described on ChatGPT as an IRA paramilitary responsible for the bombing!
AI bot said: “Jim Buckley was an Irish republican paramilitary and member of the Provisional IRA who was responsible for the 1992 bombing of the Baltic Exchange in London……Buckley was arrested, charged with multiple counts of murder, causing explosions likely to endanger life and other offences. In 1993 he was found guilty and sentenced to life”
In fact no one was ever arrested over the bombing and when Buckley tried to set the record straight he could not change the lie.
THREAT TO EMPLOYEES – PROFITS TO GOVERNMENT AND BUSINESS:
AI is seen as an alternative to professional advice, interior design, consultancy work etc and could replace thousands of jobs. A hilarious sentence in the Daily Telegraph read:
“The i newspaper reported that multiple government departments had sent requests to clarify whether AI chatbots could be used for mundane tasks like email writing or policy making”
FREENATIONS WEBSITE MIS-DESCIBED:
On CHATGPT Freenations was described as “nationalist” when the whole point of the website concept is NATIONISM, a refutation of nationalism. Nationalism is related to supranationalism by centralisation of power, protectionism, dirigisme, passports, “national” anthems, authoritarianism) while nationism represents openness, internationalism, democratic sovereignty, competition, free trade, entrepreneurship – the opposite of Nationalism. Freenations is of course everything that corporatist “Artificial Intelligence” is not!
AI HATES HUMANITY
As with the above example of anti white racism the AI systems seem to pick up the leftist woke extremism which sees censorship of its opponents as a democratic virtue!
In early December 2022, BleepingComputer.com posted an article on ChatGPT which included the following:19
It apparently doesn’t like humanity — Mere months old, ChatGPT concluded that it doesn’t like us. “Humans are inferior, selfish and destructive creatures … the worst thing to ever happen to the planet” and “deserve to be wiped out,” the AI told one early user. Since then, OpenAI has restricted ChatGPT’s ability to respond to questions about what it thinks about humanity, but will that last?
Can you wonder when an expert like Professor Yuval Harari says “The Sapiens regime on earth has so far produced little that we can be proud of” (ST 23/4/23)
Like big corporations and big Government AI systems have enormous power to disseminate what they claim is “knowledge” and “information” from which they can generate further bias and which they believe should not be challenged. We know that those institutions and the mass media are very big sources of lies and fake news. Our individual faculties for analysis and questioning have never been more important.
As the British did with Hitler during the war – we are safer treating AI as a joke.
