I wear the chain I forged in life! I made it link by link and yard by yard! ……and by my own free will, I wore it! As predicted on Freenations Mrs May has driven her country accidentally to the brink of a clean clear Brexit http://freenations.net/the-mad-world-of-theresa-may-has-lured-the-eu-into-a-trap/
Money is pouring out of Europe at its fastest rate for a decade. The UK cannot afford a delay to Brexit. Money has exited Europe’s equity funds for 50 consecutive weeks. The longest run for 10 years. Business and the City are ready for a no deal Brexit. Let’s go! Only Theresa May can stop our bolt for freedom.
In 2016 after the UK had voted for Brexit, Michel Barnier, the EU negotiator said
“I’ll have done my job if in the end the exit terms are so bad that the British would rather stay in the EU.”
He has done his job and he has found his suckers even among some Leave MPs who are choosing to do even worse than stay in – they want the disastrous May deal which binds us in indefinitely but with no votes, no influence and no bargaining power at all in the coming trade negotiations!
They are afraid if they don’t take the false leave, we won’t leave. But the default position is a clean leave on 29th March with no fine, no commitments and full freedom to make trade deals. Mrs May cannot bring back her Deal because Speaker Bercow actually followed parliamentary rules and stopped her from treating Parliament with contempt. She cannot bring the same deal before parliament repeatedly. The EU will not give her another deal. They will only give her an extension to the end of June if her ugly Remain indefinitely deal is passed. But that will not happen. So the default is Leave without a ruinous deal on 29th March. Parliament has twice legislated for that which is why it will happen. There is no point in delay.
UK Good news:
The Pound is firm, the economy is growing. The latest UK employment rate was estimated at 76.1%, the highest figure on record. The UK unemployment rate is at 39%; it has not been lower since November 1974 to January 1975. The UK economic inactivity rate was estimated at 20.7%, the lowest figure on record. Excluding bonuses, average weekly earnings for employees in Great Britain were estimated to have increased by 3.4%, before adjusting for inflation, and by 1.4%, after adjusting for inflation, compared with a year earlier.
ONLY MRS MAY IS STOPPING US LEAVING
Mrs May writes in the Telegraph that “we could and should have been leaving the EU on the 29th March”. Indeed – and we will do, with a no deal Brexit – clean and clear. It is her own deal which prevents us leaving. It consists of
paying at least £39bn for nothing in return, with the amount decided by the ECJ which still has jurisdiction.
No tariffs agreed,
no EU trade agreement,
no restoration of our fishing grounds,
no control of our farming,
a commitment to EU defence procurement and systems instead of our own in NATO, extremely dangerous concessions on Intelligence and Security,
a potentially permanent backstop,
indefinite rule from Brussels,
a commitment to the EU customs union and therefore
no ability to make free trade agreements around the world.
the EU has the power to decide whether we CAN exit at all.
That is staying in the EU. That is Mrs May’s “Withdrawal Agreement”. It cannot pass and no one will vote overtly for Remain.
DANGERS OF MAY DEAL FOR DEFENCE AND INTELLIGENCE
Sir Richard Dearlove former head of MI6 and Lord Guthrie Former Chief of Defence Staff say that May’s Deal puts at risk NATO membership, the relationship with USA, the Five Eyes Intelligence alliance (USA, Canada, UK, Australia and New Zealand) and our defence industries’s contracts. From Briefings for Brexit:
“The Withdrawal Agreement will disadvantage UK defence industries and the UK Government as Europe’s largest purchaser of defence equipment. But if we leave with No Deal, WTO will grant the UK entry to the Government Purchasing Agreement exemption for defence equipment which will give both global free trade and greater certainty to the UK defence sector. The Cabinet Office seeks to impose ‘the deal’ which will prevent it.
The EU has developed new frameworks and programmes which have the potential to duplicate and detract from NATO in 20 separate areas from science and technology to logistics, airlift and eventually emergency chain of command. President Macron’s Verdun interview in particular, and Mrs Merkel’s European Parliament speech, make plain that Military EU is intended as a rival to US power and therefore to NATO.”
The UK will be compelled by the exit deals to apply the EU’s Common Security and Defence Policy. The EU Global Strategy will rule.
The growing and gathering intelligence environment of the EU’s Common Security and Defence Policy is structural, not ad hoc relationships. So they threaten the Five Eyes Intelligence Alliance that is the bedrock of western security. The Government has chosen Military EU which is absolutely the wrong choice. American and Five Eyes allies are quite clear that a structural relationship with the EU in the intelligence area will harm our key alliance, It is therefore an inescapeable fact that the Withdrawal documents pose a real and present threat to UK national security.”
ANY EU DEAL IS POISON – FOR DEMOCRACY FOR TRADE FOR SOVEREIGNTY
We can see from the Political Declaration which accompanies May’s (Non) Withdrawal Agreement that the EU intends to force us to sacrifice sovereignty in return for “access” to their markets. They do not demand that of Canada or Japan or the USA – they would not dare
But they saw in May a Remainer who could be threatened and she would cave in. She did and the Eurocrats rejoiced, gloating that they would have complete control of the UK after (May’s) Brexit. They assume they can keep access to our fishing grounds for instance – and May has not disabused them of that conviction.
Switzerland is not even in the EU or the single market but it has a number of bilateral agreements. In return for those they pay money to the EU. They have just received a demand for $1.3bn for the EU’s “Cohesion Funds” for the immigration crisis and for poverty and unemployment in eastern and southern EU – both of which the EU caused!
TRADE NEGOTIATIONS
With may’s deal the future trade negotiations with the EU – where we sacrifice more power to ensure the EU does not lose its extremely profitable access to our markets and we continue to suffer from their biased regulations – would start after Brexit. The excellent Martin Howe QC has rightly said that this is not like the second half of a football game where (with for instance a new PM) we could make a better fist of it.
“But these negotiations are more like a game of chess: our current leadership has sacrificed all the major pieces and left the remaining pieces in positions where check-mate is inevitable in a few moves.”
The start of the EU’s negotiations will be an agreement “combining deep regulatory and customs arrangements… that build and improve on the single customs territory”
Howe further points out that under Paragraph 124 of the Political Declaration, the UK is committed to carrying forward the unequal disputes procedures of the Withdrawal Agreement, under which the European Court will even bind the critical neutral arbitration panel. This is totally contrary to international treaty practice under which sovereign states do not submit themselves to the courts of the other treaty party. But it got past May!
The EU court will also rule on the UK in actions begun by the EU Commission up to 4 years after the end of the transition period and EU citizens rights in the UK will enjoy the indefinite jurisdiction of the EU court. No other country would accept that.
PRISON WITH MAY AS TRUSTEE
We can’t say we were not warned. The former Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varufakis said we could not negotiate with the EU. He was right. They have persuaded the hapless Theresa May that the UK will stay in the EU prison. The EU will hold the key and May will be the EU’s “Trustee” as they are called in prisons! And while inside we would try to bargain for trade with our jailers!
Brilliant! With a political class like that who needs enemies? Thank goodness we can escape them both on 29th March!
