There seems to be no limit to the arrogance and hypocrisy of the German corporatist classes. Corporatism is that combination of State power, business power and collectives of labour and other interest groups, is well established in the politico-economic structures of France and Germany and is the basis of all fascist societies. It is also the basis of the political and economic teaching of the Vatican (the only western church which has developed a quasi political manifesto which it promotes in its religious teachings).
At a meeting of German Bankers in Frankfurt, the German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer (a left wing politician with historic connections to extreme Marxist violent groups who has embraced extreme corporatist and German imperialist policies once in Government) warned other EU members that they should not act in economic and political matters “as representatives of their own countries” but ” as Europeans”. He was supported in this approach by the Head of Deutsche Bank Josef Ackermann who attacked “national positions” in economic matters.
In the annals of political hypocrisy this must be a record. For this is the same German political-corporatist class which has just completely destroyed the European Union Treaty on which the economic stability of the Euro was to depend!
France and Germany have broken the rules of the Stability Pact negotiated at Maastricht (in order – as Germany said at the time – to prevent monetary chaos if weaker economies got into too much debt) for three years in a row! And Germany in particular has just bullied and bribed many smaller EU members into voting for this suspension of the Stability packed rules. And simultaneously the German political class demands the end to “national positions” and that EU members states should “act as Europeans”.
The arrogance of the German States is as breathtaking as its hypocrisy – but that is precisely the proof that the German designed EU has handed to Germany (and to a lesser extent France) almost unlimited power to do in the new Superstate exactly what they want.
