Over a period of 18 years, the GGHA has brought together more than 600 humanities scholars from over 50 countries, with the participation of the former President of India, Abdul Kalam (an Indian aerospace scientist and statesman who served as the 11th president of India from 2002 to 2007) 5 Nobel Peace Laureates and many prominent peace leaders from around the world. Dr Leo Semashko, GGHA founder, drew his inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi and added his name to the organisation in 2019.
Dr Semashko writes on the Association’s website:
“Atkinson’s attack on Corporatism is an expert analysis of the West’s civilisational and democratic agony”
“We share similar views and have a similar vision of Western civilisation, so we quickly found a common language and mutually complementary approaches, reinforcing and enriching them.”
I have been warning for over 30 years of the rise of corporatist fascism (and its inevitable imperialism) in the West (and in Europe in particular) but Leo is referring specifically to the following three posts
And I am delighted that Leo Semashko and the GGHA have understood how this basic hegemonic distortion of human economic and political life is the underlying cause of domestic tyranny and popular alienation on the one hand and international conflict on the other.
All three posts were translated into Russian and published on the GGHA website with Semashko’s comments here: https://peacefromharmony.org/?cat=en_c&key=1118
Dr Leo Semashko stood in the first democratic elections held in Russia in April 1990 and was elected to the St Petersburg Council, having defeated 7 communist candidates. (It was of course in St Petersburg in 1990 that Vladimir Putin was appointed as Mayor Sobchak’s advisor on international affairs and introduced liberal political and economic reforms, bringing principles of market economics and trade to Russian industry.)
Leo Semashko was not naive when he read various “treaties on eternal peace” but realised that
“the achievement of global peace is possible only on the path of social harmony and nonviolence, but not in any way within the framework of any subjective, utopian combinations”
The main scientific and peacemaking achievement of the GGHA for 18 years is the creation of the unprecedented interdisciplinary “Spherons Global Peace MegaScience“, briefly Spheronics, presented over the years in more than 1500 publications in up to 12 languages, including 11 books and 84 peacemaking projects, the list of which are here: https://peacefromharmony.org/?cat=en_c&key=472.
