A BBC news presenter, “Look North’s” Danny Carpenter, has only been “suspended” after branding the government the “new Nazis” on Facebook. He has been suspended for calling Conservatives “cynical, vicious, racist and xenophobic” and calling the Government “Nazis”.
He also called for the referendum result to be “voted out” by Parliament (ie the people’s representatives should vote against the people!) because of a “combination of dishonest fear mongering and lies about the economy”. Yes indeed the lies and misinformation were obnoxious – and all came from the BBC, the British authoritarian Left, the big financiers and big business who sought to bully the voters into voting against the restoration of their country, parliament and democracy. But given the BBC’s history of appeasement of Nazism and Fascism in the 1930s and their slavish support of the corporatist fascist EU State since the 1960s their reporters should be careful!
The BBC journalist Nick Robinson (The Daily Telegraph, October 14, 2012) showed how the creation of ITV during the 1950’s was in large measure a consequence of Churchill’s enduring frustration with the BBC. Churchill’s anti appeasement message had been kept off the BBC from 1934 and he was banned entirely from 1937 to 1939. This censorship of one the world’s greatest democrats – honoured in both the United States and in Russia – is indicative of the nature of the BBC. It was left to an enterprising anti-appeaser, Captain Leonard Plugge, who gave Churchill the opportunity to broadcast the anti fascist call on Radio Normandy. Transmitting from Fecamp on the Channel coast, Plugge successfully circumvented the BBC monopoly.
The BBC’s Lord Reith, BBC head during the 1940s, after whom the annual “Reith lectures” are named (The latest Reith lecturer is trumpeting the end of the nation state) was not just an appeaser he was an admirer of the Nazis. His diary entries after the July 1934 Night of the Long Knives, when Hitler had his enemies in the Nazi movement murdered, reads:
“I really admire the way Hitler has cleaned up what looked like an incipient revolt,”
After the 1939 invasion of Czechoslovakia Reith wrote:
“Hitler continues his magnificent efficiency,”
A figure of justified contempt in Britain is the wife of Oswald Mosley (the former leader of the British Union of Fascists) – Lady Diana Mosley, a great admirer of Hitler and an even more assertive fascist than her husband. So why on earth did the BBC choose to interview her shortly before her death? Like her husband, who founded a newspaper in the 1950s called “The European”, Lady Diana in her BBC interview poured scorn on British eurosceptics and gave total support to the European Union.
So their disgraceful appeasement of fascism in the 1930s – broadcasting that line until June 1939 – was not to be the last time that the BBC misjudged completely events on the Continent and why they were so active in the campaign to promote the UK’s entry into the European Union in the run up to Edward Heath’s signing of the Accession Treaty in 1971. The BBC sent journalists along to secret meetings in the late 1960s of politicians and businessmen agitating to join the EEC (now the EU). This was of course totally against the terms of their own Charter.
The BBC’s euro fanaticism continues today, censoring eurosceptic voices and news of chaos, riots and revolt in the Euro-zone. When a modicum of balance between eurofanatics and eurosceptics was permitted during the 2016 EU referendum the resulting vote for “brexit” was such a shock to the BBC elitist philosophy that ever since they have given disproportionate publicity to anyone predicting doom for the British and their economy – while studiously ignoring, where possible, the facts – which show a remarkably resilient growth and optimism.
The BBC seems perfectly happy with the corporatist fascist European Union, 25 million unemployed, the mass migrations of young people seeking jobs, the collapse of the Irish Portugese, Italian, Spanish and Greek economies, the rise of crypto fascist regimes in Bosnia, Croatia and Ukraine and the loss of democratic accountability in all the once free nation states of Europe to a technocratic, bureaucratic elite in Brussels – controlled ultimately by Berlin.
Of course the corporatist fascists who brought about this disaster derive from the Left, the Right and especially the “centre”. In each party there are anti corporatists and anti fascists but the BBC does not and has never taken their side, or even given them fair airtime. The BBC Journalist who attacked this Conservative Government (the first since the 1980s to insist on the return of democracy, constitutionality and the powers of our centuries old parliament) is but the tip of an ugly iceberg – as we showed in the articles on this website “the Ugly Face of the Euro-fascist Left” and “The Ugly Face of the Euro-fascist Right”.
As the Government – in the form of the State owned Royal Bank of Scotland – closes the bank accounts of Russia Today, exhibiting a grotesque censorship of an increasingly popular source of information and opinion we see the State controlled BBC attacking democrats and anti-fascists. Having warned of such evils since 1989 I am not surprised.
