Belgium, the heart of the European Union and its pedantic environmental regulations which burden the UK has the dirtiest water in the world, according to the United Nation’s first World Water Development Report.
Belgium ranks last of 122 countries — below countries like India and Jordan and even lower than nine African countries!
The next worst EU country is that great exploiter of regulations in order to impose EU power – Germany – in 57th place.
Britain, the EU nation most frequently charged by the bureau-fascists in Brussels with water- quality infringements, turns out to have the world’s fourth cleanest water.
A century ago, both Brussels and London had stinking, sewage-laden rivers. London cleaned up the Thames and salmon now swim in it but raw sewage still pours untreated into Belgium’s rivers, where it mixes with manure from intensive livestock farms. (Some years ago Belgium was found to have mixed cement with animal feed!)
